Following are opportunities in which parents and friends can help the Unionville High School Rowing Club. Sign-up below for those you are interested in –

Help organize the Board to support UHS Rowing and oversee the 501 (c) (3) filing. The Board is responsible for all financial, logistical, physical and athlete development commitments of UHS Rowing. They are also responsible for building and sustaining relationships with partners such as Wilmington Rowing Club, CrossFit, and FitRyde.

Marketing & Communications
This committee is responsible for all external and internal communication in regard to athlete and parent commitment, monetary contributions, volunteer leadership and responsibility, Club bylaws, Code of Conduct as well as official communication with UHS and CFPMS administrations. They will be responsible for website upkeep, communication of events with all UCFSD communities and club promotion both within and external to our UCFSD community.

A subcommittee of the Board that will oversee finances and provide financial leadership for UHS Rowing including budgets, salaries, investments, rowing fees, etc.

Organize 1-2 fundraisers per season, which will contribute to equipment and scholarship funds as well as other uses outlined by members and the board.

Research and present opportunities for competition and athlete enrichment. Work with coaches to create regatta schedule as well as enrichment activities including summer camps, college recruitment, spring break and summer opportunities.

Food & Tent 
Manage race day arrangements including food menu, equipment needs, site set-up and tear-down. These parents coordinate all food for crew activities: pasta parties, rower parties, snacks for training, etc.

Uniform & Spirit Wear
Responsible for procuring, selling and managing proceeds from sale of official team uniforms and spirit wear for UHS Crew rowers, coaches and parents.


  • WRC Contact – Main point of contact with Wilmington Rowing Club.
  • Transportation Contact – Point of contact between UHS rowing and UCFSD transportation (if appropriate) and will organize car-pooling for families on an as needed basis.
  • Training Liaison – Points of contact with Cross Fit Kennett Square & Fit Rhyde West Chester.
  • Novice and Newcomer Contact – Responsible for ensuring all novices (athletes and parents) are matched with a varsity family to help answer any questions they may have about crew including:  practices, summer camps and enrichment opportunities, regattas, how to accommodate academics, transportation and any other relevant questions that newcomers may have. They will also schedule and assist the coaches in conducting a new parent training early in the season.
