Thanks for your interest in Unionville Crew! There is a lot of information on this page so please read it carefully. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. The sign-up form is located at the bottom of the page. Information on payment options can be found here.
Every athlete will need to complete the following before participating in the spring 2017 season. All forms must be turned in to the Unionville Athletic Office by February 24th. Any athlete who does not have their forms in by the February 28th will not be able to participate in practice.
- PIAA Physical Form – This form is required by Unionville High School. Click here for a great explanation on what you need to do. If you have already participated in a sport at Unionville this school year you only need to fill out Section 7. If rowing is your first sport this school year you must fill out the entire form.
- ImPACT – This form is required by Unionville High School. You can read more about it here – yellow box at the top of the page. Again, if you have already filled out this form this year you DO NOT need to do so again.
- USRowing Online Waiver –
- You only need to pay $7.75 for the USRowing membership. You do not need to be a Championship member! This membership provides insurance coverage while you are a member of the team.
- If you have never been a USRowing member you will need to “Join”. Once you create your account you will need to join an organization by searching for Unionville and then using the Club Code: DWKJV. Click on the link to sign the waiver, answer four questions (don’t worry – it’s ok if you don’t get the answers right) and then accept the waiver. You will need to pay $7.75 for the Basic membership. You do NOT need to pay for a Championship membership.
All athletes and parents need to sign up for Remind – Text @ucrew to 81010 to join. We use Remind for important messages about practice and races.
Practice will run from 2:45 – 6:25 Tuesday – Friday and Saturdays from 8:15-11:00. During the week the bus will leave the school at 2:45 and students will arrive at the boathouse at about 3:25. We will row from 3:45 to 5:15 and the bus will head back to school at 5:45, arriving at approximately 6:25. There is no bussing on Saturdays so athletes are expected to arrive at the boathouse at 8:15 am and will be dismissed sometime around 11:00 am.
What to wear to practice
Rowing is an outdoor sport so athletes must be prepared to row in all kinds of weather conditions. Unless there is thunder or lightning, we will be on the water so it can be cold, wet, hot, or any combination. The most important thing is to wear tight fitting shorts or long tights. Any loose clothing can interfere with the moving seat in the boat and becomes a safety hazard.
A bus is provided to and from the boathouse during the week. This transportation is provided for a cost of $225. The bus will leave the school at 2:45 (after the athletes have changed into their practice clothing) and will leave the boathouse at 5:45. On the trip back to the school the bus will make one stop at Creamery Lane off of Route 52. The Castaldi Salon and Spa is on the corner of Creamery Lane and 52. After this stop the bus will continue to the school, arriving at approximately 6:25. Transportation for Saturday practices is the responsibility of the athlete.
Please fill out the form below to sign up for the spring season and we look forward to you being a part of the team!
